At K2A, we know the rigors of designing and permitting healthcare interiors. We have experience in programming, facilitation, and universal design; permitted through OSHPD, local Public Health Departments, Division of the State Architect, and the San Francisco Mayor's Office on Disability approval processes. We are sensitive to patient privacy and HIPAA regulations. Our practice includes a diverse portfolio of comprehensive healthcare facilities, including clinics, hospitals, counseling centers, and dental facilities.
We work together with nurses, doctors, senior executives and facility managers, with an eye toward creating a community-oriented environment. Our approach is to design and specify materials with an emphasis on "low to no" maintenance from sustainable sources. Testing material samples for durability and creating mock-ups of key areas is a key part of the design process.
Successful healthcare design not only adheres to industry standards, but also provides a comforting environment that promotes healthy recovery.
