Exterior Building Survey, James R Browning US Courthouse San Francisco, California
U.S. General Services Administration
K2A is providing architectural and engineering (A/E) services to study and provide recommendations for cleaning and repairing the exterior granite and terra cotta facades at the historic James Browning US Courthouse in San Francisco.
K2A and historic consultant Page & Turnbull are conducting an exterior materials conditions survey and historic facade investigation. The hands-on survey encompasses the exterior (sidewalk facing) masonry, parapets and cornices, elevator penthouse masonry, and the interior courtyard masonry, requiring scaffolding, a boom lift and swing stage. The survey schedule requires coordination with the court to determine when it is in session, as well as can be delayed by inclement weather.
K2A will provide a comprehensive report that outlines the existing conditions on the site, our team’s findings and analysis and recommendations for restorative treatment, as ell as a cost estimate of the preferred proposed masonry restoration treatment alternative.
